There isn't any law against carrying any amount of cash in the united states. The only law about cash is to not declare more than $10k in cash when leaving or entering the United States. I think this man should bring a law suit against the TSA for the harrassment he went through, and the FBI agent was smart enough to advise the TSA that they were completly in the wrong to detain this gentleman. It shows you the intelligence level between the FBI, who are usually well edjucated, and low level of intelligence of the TSA. If I would have been stopped for that by them I would have laughed at them, and their threats, and would not have given them the satisfaction of saying anything at all, and just asked for a supervisor or somebody who knows the law to clear me through. There are probably thousands of people carrying that amount of money or more everyday on the airlines.
