Henrik Rummel Defends Photo

The photo of the US Men's Four rowing team accepting their Bronze Medal on August 4 looks normal, at least at first. Eventually you notice Henrik Rummmel's shorts. Winning an Olympic medal must be even more exciting than one would imagine.

Remember how we said that men's Olympic pics weren't as sexualized as the women's? Well, the internet is clearly seeking some sort of balance.

The photo of Henrik Rummel apparently sporting wood began to go viral, aided in sno small part by Reddit.

The story gets better. Henrik Rummel himself a redditor, found out that his podium photo was going viral, and tried to set the record straight:

Rummel's confirmation photo is made better by the smugly smiling young woman standing behind him. (Henrik Rummel told Gawker, "Yes, that's my girlfriend. She would've preferred if it had never happened, but she appreciates the humor behind her boyfriend's package going viral! I think this is great!")

Said a later Reddit commenter, "If that's not erect I suddenly feel extremely inadequate."
