Hutton Gibson, Mel Gibson's Father Denies Holocaust, Attacks Pope
Hutton Gibson is Hollywood heavyweight Mel Gibson's father and with Mel's new movie Edge of Darkness coming out this Friday, he's probably hoping for all the good press he can get.
Well his father, Hutton Gibson may not be helping his case too much. Mel Gibson shocked fans a few years ago with his racist, anti-Semite rant, but his father is a World War II veteran who has famously denied in the past the the Holocaust ever happened. Today is also Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Hutton Gibson has his own website where he discusses his views, but on a radio show called The Political Cesspool recently he talked about the late Pope John Paul II being a Russian or Communist agent and the lack of faith in the Vatican and its leaders.
“The whole bunch at the top,” Hutton Gibson says at 14:58 of the interview, of the current Archdiocese, ”if they’re not outright queer, they’re supportive of it. They do nothing about the terrible things that go on among the clergy and the bishops.”
On his own website Hutton Gibson calls Pope Benedict XVI 'Benny the Rat'.
Hutton Gibson is saying that there is not a strong Christian voice coming out of the Vatican these days.
Mel Gibson recently left his wife for a younger woman and they have since had a child.
In interviews Mel Gibson refuses to distance himself from his father or his views and does not like to discuss his 2006 DUI incident.
Perez Hilton has the radio interview with Hutton Gibson.
What do you think of Hutton Gibson's remarks? Do you think he has a point about the Catholic Church? Or do you think he takes his views too far?
