New Delhi: The palace of one of Indian cricket’s legends, Ranjitsinh, after whom Ranji Trophy has been named — was broken into in Jamnagar on Monday and valuables were stolen. valuables worth Rs 4 crore were taken away in the burglary, but police officials refused to give details until the present owner examined the palace. Jam Bungalow now belongs to Shatrushailyasinh Jadeja, a direct descendant of Ranjitsinh, who lives in Mumbai. Sources said Ranjitsinh’s bat was kept in the palace. According to B-division police station officials, a complaint was lodged by Krishnasinh Ramsingh Jadeja, cousin of Shatrushailyasinh and his close aide. “The complaint states that a security guard of the palace informed Krishnasinh of the break-in on Monday morning ,” police inspector Kashyap Bhatt said. “The valuables were scattered in the palace. We are waiting for Shatrushailyasinh to return. Only then will we know the worth of the valuables stolen.” The palace has been sealed for investigation. Superintendent of police RI Jotangiya said.


According to the agency report, swords, the crown, golden grip, Ranjitsinh’s cricket bat and other antiquities belonging to the royal family were kept in the palace.
