Interac Debit Cards to Be Equipped with R.F.I.D. Chips 01/14/09

Chalk up another victory for the control of the powers that be, the well known widely used Interac debit card system will now be replaced with R.F.I.D.chips www.webopedia.com/TERM/R/RFID.html or radio frequency identification chips. www.interac.ca/consumers/chip.php . This is the next wave of erasing the paper currency and replacing it with computer catalogued digital money. This has been talked about for years and now it is becoming a reality. The angle that Interac has chosen to portray is one of greater security for the consumer and retailer. This however has a more of a tone laced in conspriacy to it rather then consumer security. Now a person can be tracked at stations with R.F.I.D. readers at will targeting their daily whereabouts and spending habits, establishments visited, etc. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVmD4iTXRLE This may also lead to other forms of personal monitoring. The question is not of when will this occur , it is more of why. Think about the prospect of a R.F.I.D. chip within your wallet or purse possibly having a listening device or a micro-video recorder transmitting intimate details of one's personal lives. The overall agenda is to take away personal freedoms one at a time boxing us in to a corner of compliancy. The planned agenda seems to be moving forward without any real advasaries stopping it. Where are the civil freedom leaders to address this invasion of privacy? There are many great truth advocates out there , but what is needed is some one in office that is opposed to this and to make a stand against it from proceeding further.
Look into the future, the next step is implantation of R.F.I.D. chips as I am sure this is already happening secretly. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgjVWaLxoL4&feature=related

Hi there,
I appreciate the post; RF chips are a real threat to our individual rights and freedoms.
However, I was unable to find a source for your information. According to the FAQ section, the Interac Chip uses "for now," direct contact technology, not RF. Since Interac says "for now," I think we can assume they plan to eventually incorporate RF tech, but I can't find anything that claims the current version of the chip uses it.
See http://www.interac.ca/consumers/faqs.php and click on "Will the chips be RFID embedded?"
Since VeriChip was advertised to the corporate world and the public as something that could be used for tracking individuals and completing financial transactions, I have no doubt that RF is on its way, and the easiest way to get people to have it is to put it on their money (as opposed to their passports or driver's liscences, as the US gov has proposed, according to the American Civil Liberties Union). But I don't think it's here just yet. But the Interac Chip is the gateway to an RF future.
