James Asanuma sues KFC over free chicken giveaway

James Asanuma from Los Angeles has filed a lawsuit against KFC for their free chicken giveaway deal that they launched back in May. He said the whole free giveaway was nothing but a scam to get chicken customers to spend more money.

The lawsuit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, says KFC promised everyone "2 pieces of grilled chicken, two individual sides and a biscuit" -- but the promotion, which was promoted on the "Oprah Winfrey Show," turned out to be so popular they couldn't meet the demand.

His lawsuit says that because KFC couldn't meet the demand they gave out vouchers instead for free food the next time, but James says this made him spend more money because he had to incur travel costs, spend money on other KFC items when he really wanted the free food giveaway deal and he 'lost the value of the promised meal'.

I waited 30 minutes for the free grilled chicken from KFC and is was excellent.

Whats worth having for (free) is worth waiting for...

I just bought their grilled chicken a few days ago and it was still cold! Yuck...

I won't even explain my experiences with this "free" give-away, other than to say it wasn't worth it!

Yes I went to KCF for free chicken, but promies myself that I was not spending a dime . This young black men hang me a paper for vouchers to be mail out. Well their another couple after me they also was their for the smae thing. Lady don't like the bad news about vouchers. Not sure with they even kept the paper work. My time was wasted and they should be made to pay. I still have not rec. my vouches , I now it hit the trash.

You people making negative comments about the give away should be ashamed. This is exactly why people don't help people like they used to, this is exactly why americans are so hated! Someone gives you a free meal and because they ran out there is now a lawsuit against them?! hahahahahahahahaha...unbelievable! Their were people that used the coupon twice, maybe you should file the lawsuit against them and be pissed at those people instead, not the company or (Oprah) who's selfless act of trying to give someone a free meal is now a total unappreciation. If I were Oprah, I wouldn't give any of you ungrateful sheep anything! shame on you, all of you....what sucks the most is this is the world my son is growing up in...wow! thats pretty scary...don't forget how easy things used to be and how much nicer people used to be before selfishness and greed took over this entire country!
