A 62 foot statue of Jesus was struck by lightening and sequentially burnt to the ground in Monroe, Ohio.  The local fire officials estimate the damage at approximately $700,000 total.  The iconic monument known by the "King of Kings" statue and more warmly as the "Touchdown Jesus" was estimated having a  worth of  $300,000 alone by  itself.  There was $400,000 in additional  fire damage suffered to the amphitheater when flames erupted from sculpture and spread to the back wall and roof.  Church leaders are strongly vowing to rebuild both the Church and their sacred monument.
This incident in some Christian based religions and it's followers see this as an act by an angry God as a sign.  With all of the recent tragedies both Human and enviromental lately it is open for debate it would seem God only knows if He was the cause of this devastating and symbolic fire.

I believe it was an act of God. I think people were thinking about the statue - not about the power of God.

Those who say that it was wrath of God  owing to which Statue of Jesus was hit by lightening want us taken back to the dark period of ignorance and superstitions.Fear, according to Marx and Engeles,is the basis of religion and clergy wanted to protect absurd beleifs by instilling all sorts of fears in the minds of beleivers.'Wrath of God" we are made scared of whenever clergy fears that it is loosing grip on beleivers.

I believe it was a natural occurence,it could have easily happened to somebody's home,or even a person..I am glad that nobody was hurt. The Church and statue can be rebuilt, and I hope they build the facility and the statue more lightening resistant.I believe that God had nothing to do with it.
