Man Found Guilty Of Groping Minnie Mouse

A 60-year-old grandfather, John William Moyer, has been found guilty of groping a woman playing Minnie Mouse at Disney World. On June 7, Moyer grabbed the woman's breasts when she dressed as Minnie Mouse while posing with him. Moyer was sentenced today:

Moyer has to write a letter of apology to the victim, Brittney Duncan McGoldrick. He also is under supervised probation for 180 days, must complete 50 hours of community service within four months, pay $1,000 in court costs and submit to a mental evaluation with treatment, if necessary.

The victim was in tears when she described the attack in court. "I was doing everything I could to get his hands off my breasts. So I did everything I could and pushed them down," she testified. However, Disney's policy prohibited her to shout out for help because she would be fired if she said a word while dressed in costume.

This is Moyer's first offense. He has no criminal record and has never had a speeding ticket. He told the judge:

I haven't, as the prosecution says, molested or grabbed -- maybe unintentionally touched, but that's as far as it went.

The defense argued, "it doesn't matter she was grabbed. She's just a mouse," and prosecutor David Bear responded, "it's not just a mouse. It's a person."

Bear said that Disney characters are no different than servers at restaurant.

It's not OK to go to the diner and pinch a waitress' butt anymore, and it's not OK to go to a theme park and pinch a character's butt.

This is not the first time a Disney character been involved in molestation investigation. In 2004, a man playing Tigger was accused of fondling a 13-year-old girl while he was in costume. He was found not guilty afterward.
