I only hope this problem with parrot gangs does not spread to other countries, here in the UK we have a large pigeon population that are fairly well behaved at the moment.

Parrot attack video.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand - A gang of unruly teenage bush parrots have wrought havoc at a bird sanctuary in New Zealand by using their powerful beaks to destroy nesting boxes. The native Kaka parrots — juvenile birds that haven't reached sexual maturity — have torn off nesting box doors and vandalized the bird homes, sanctuary conservation officer Matt Robertson said Friday. Twenty-four of 44 new Kaka nest boxes built over the winter have been ripped apart, he said, adding that the birds then gouged out chunks of wood with their strong beaks. Vinny, has their leader been identified? Amusing, though I'd imagine, not so to the keepers at sanctuary!

Thanks Karen, I don't think the leader has been identified yet and feel this maybe a problem that has been building up for a while, New Zealand needs to perhaps identify and address the concerns of their young parrot population before this gets worse.

Thanks Jordan, it seems the parrots are learning their bad ways from other parrots in the sanctuary just like young criminals do when in prison, perhaps they should consider non custodial sentences for bad parrots and make them spend more time with their parronts .

Sanctuary staff said the destructive behavior was more widespread than last year, indicating it is being learned by young male birds and imitated.

Vinny, I like this story. It's good stuff.

The Parrot Warriors. Maybe they are the next evolution of Parrot Intelligence.

Perhaps we should start getting ready for this evolution and even consider a pre emptive strike on the parrots! thanks for the flag Paschen.

Hum, you make a good point here, it could eventually put NZ on the Axis of Evil and end up getting invaded due to Parrot threat that could take over the world. I am sure some one in the CIA may see that way. Well maybe not.

I blame Jimmy Buffett.

These are the parrots our parronts warned us about.

Thanks for the link dunkelberg it seems he should be "a person of interest" in this current wave of parrot unrest.

You know, our police and media have picked up that "person of interest" phrase over here.

Geez, it seems "Merican English has "gone missing".

Cheers, mate!

Ta!
