The Krispy Creme Challenge is underway at North Carolina State University. Basically, it's run two miles, eat a dozen donuts, then run two miles back.
The whole "eat a dozen donuts" thing would be the deal-breaker for me, as I'd die of congestive heart failure right then and there, but five thousand people disagree, and have signed up for the event, which began life as a college dare.
Participants begin by running a two-mile race, with stacks of Krispy Kreme donuts awaiting them at the end. After eating a dozen donuts, participants race the two-mile trail again, back to their starting point. The key is to finish the challenge in under an hour, not get sick in the process and raise as much funding as possible for the hospital in Chapel Hill.
A worthy cause, though.

Hmmm, this would be even better if you had to drink a dozen pints of good beer instead of eating all those donuts. :(
Then again, I'm English so I would say that.... :)
