McDonald's officially has an employee of the century, or half century to be exact. Leonard Rhomberg, 68, has worked at the fast food chain McDonald's for 50 years, at an actual restaurant not in the corporate offices. Leonard Rhomberg got his first job at a St. Louis McDonald's in 1959 when he was 18, and 50 years later he is still working at the same location.

Talk about employee loyalty! Not many people celebrate 50 years working with the same company, let alone 50 years at what was likely their first real job. Leonard Rhomberg's golden anniversary as an employee at the Golden Arches is worthy of some real corporate recognition.

Maybe McDonald's execs should think about making Leonard Rhomberg a spokesperson and running an ad campaign around their most loyal employee. At the very least they should let the 68 year old retire with some sort of pension, complete with full medical benefits, in recognition of his rare dedication to the company.

A Leonard Rhomberg began his job at a McDonald's restaurant in the St. Louis suburb of Crestwood in 1959, the year after it opened. And he still works there five days a week.

KSDK-TV reports that the restaurant's owners, Patrick and Tom Hillmeyer, thanked Rhomberg on Wednesday with a cake, gifts and a St. Louis Cardinals jersey.

I'm with you on the wish for pension and medical benefits.   What an opportunity to use his story for recruiting help!
