A mammal that dates back to the dinosaurs has been found alive in the in the remote parts of Hispaniola.  Hispaniola is located in the Haiti and Dominican Republic. The Soledon or "grooved tooth" mammal is one of the rarest mammals on Earth.  This shrew like mammal was thought to be on the verge of extinction , however scientists have discovered and categorized a captured member of this unique mammal.  After gathering DNA, and other vitual information the Soledon was released back into the wild.  This is important in hopes of not disturbing the already fragile enviroment of this species.  Considering this little mammal walked with the dinosaurs and has been found today is a thing of wonderment.    And what makes this small mammal even more interesting is this, the Soledon is the only known mammal alive that has venomous tubes within it's teeth much like a snake.
