Lord of the Ring: Aleki Taumoepeau Finds Lost Ring in NZ Harbor

New Zealander Aleki Taumoepeau is the real "Lord of the Ring" after retreiving his lost wedding ring from the bottom of Wellington Harbor.

In 2008, Aleki Taumoepeau's wedding ring slipped from his finger and sank to the bottom of Wellington Harbor. Aleki Taumoepeau vowed to get the ring back, and, with Gollum-like tenacity, he prevailed.

Aleki Taumoepeau dropped an anchor overboard to mark the spot where the ring was lost, and took note of the GPS coordinates. His first attempt failed, but his second attempt proved successful. He's now a total hero in his household, but the ring does not allow him to turn invisible.
