A teenager who sat around eating McDonald's with friends while others around them tried to help a crash they had allegedly caused escaped from custody on Friday.

18-year-old Madison Jo Randell asked to be taken to hospital from jail after being in court on Tuesday, where he faced a string of charges relating to the driving accident that killed a Gold Coast man.

AN accused teenage hoon who allegedly snacked on McDonald's with his mates at a fatal crash scene has escaped police custody and is on the run.

Madison Jo Randell, 18, appeared in court on Tuesday charged with a string of driving offences over last Saturday's accident which killed Gold Coast man Mario Martorano, 82, and critically injured his wife Edith, 72.

It's been alleged that those in the car driven by Mr Randell not only failed to help but also sat around eating McDonald's.

A GROUP of teenagers involved in a crash that killed an 82-year-old man and left his 72-year-old partner fighting for her life had fast food delivered to them at the crash site, a witness says.

WTF?  It sounds like pretty inept police work to me. Maybe they should be sentenced to having to eat nothing but McDonalds food for a year.  Call it Super Duper Size Me!

AKTUALLY, MADISON JO RANDELL DID NOT PARTAKE OF ANY MC DONALDS. AFTER BEING ORERED BY A NEARBY LOCAL TO BAK OFF, THE BOYS SAT FOR FOUR HOURS, WATCHING.  ONE OF THE BOYS RANG HIS BROTHER TO BRING HIM MC DONALDS, THIS WAS NOT MADISON, HE DID NOT PARTAKE!

I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I AM FAMILY, THIS BOY THAT ORDERED MC DONALDS ADMITTED IT TO ME. "THAT IT WAS ONLY HIM, NOT THE OTHERS, NOT MADISON".

I forgot this is America in 2008....no one is at fault for anything they do.  What a joke!  The kid needs to take some personal responsibility and own up.
