Man In Green Bodysuit Scales Indianapolis Monument

INDIANAPOLIS -- There was pointing and laughter on Monument Circle Saturday night, as people stopped to watch a man try to climb the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.Dressed in a green bodysuit, a man who called himself "Green Man" said he was attempting to climb the structure and videotape it for a television show.After police brought him down and escorted him off the property, he apologized for the stunt, telling 6News that he didn't know the history of the monument.


"Apparently, this is a war memorial, which I did not know or else I wouldn't have climbed on it," he said. "That's very disrespectful, so don't do that and don't say I told you to do that."Police said the man was banned from the property.
