Man has eaten 23,000 Big Macs since 1972
How many Big Macs do you think you could eat in a day…week…month…year…years?? One guy has managed to eat 23,000 Big Macs since 1972. Yes...23,000! For those that have ever seen Super Size Me, you may have remembered seeing him in the film. His name is Don Gorske, who has kept a receipt for every Big Mac he’s ever purchased.
The correctional-institution employee says he doesn't care when people call his Big Mac obsession crazy. He says he's in love with the burgers, which are the highlights of his days.
On August 17, 2008, Gorske ate his 23,000th Big Mac at his favorite McDonald's restaurant in Fond du Lac.
You would think someone who ate that many Big Macs would be rather hefty. He’s just the opposite.
Despite maintaining what many would consider to be an unhealthy diet, Gorske is 6 feet (1.83 m) tall, 180 pounds (82 kg), and claims a cholesterol level of 140.
The 54-year-old says his fast food habit has been fed by his obsessive-compulsive disorder and claims to have kept every receipt for his burgers.
Gorske, who lives in Wisconsin, says he is in good shape despite what some would call his unhealthy diet.
He said: “Sometimes people call me a freak but it doesn’t bother me. I just say respect people as they are.
Some interesting facts about Mr. Gorske:
He proposed to his wife Mary, in his favorite McDonald's parking lot.
Don Gorske also records when and where he eats his Big Macs in a notebook that he carries with him all of the time. Gorske has kept every burger receipt in a box.
Gorske took his wife to McDonald's for their reception dinner where he engulfed 11 Big Macs.
Don Gorske of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is a "Big Mac enthusiast" who has eaten over 23,000 Big Mac hamburgers in his lifetime, winning a place in the 2005 Guinness Book of Records in the process. He claims the Big Mac constitutes 90% of his total solid food intake. He is featured in the documentaries Super Size Me (2004) and Don Gorske: Mac Daddy (2005).
Appearing in the documentary Super Size Me, Don claims in 1984 he was once paid $5 to eat a Whopper. He ate the Whopper, then took the money and used it to purchase a Big Mac at a nearby McDonald's.

i wonder how much $ 23,000 macs add up to.

I love Big Mac, but I try to avoid them as much as I can. I try to eat just one a month.

Last time I ate a burger at McD I kinda got ill (1996). The guy is a hero. Some birds can eat rotten meat. I wonder how much he has paid for those 23000 burgers. If the burger + a drink costs just over $4 he has spent $100,000 on McD junk food.
But....he can always sell those rec
