PERPIGNAN (FRANCE): Frenchman Lluis Colet broke the world record for the longest speech after rambling nonstop for 124 hours about Spanish painter Salvador Dali, Catalan culture and other topics.

The 62-year-old Catalan and local government worker spoke for five straight days and four nights to set the record in the French town of Perpignan. Three notaries were on hand to recognise the feat which allows Colet to enter it in the Guinness Book of Records.

A frenchman who once previously held the title of the person who can speak the longest nonstop in 2004, reclaimed the title once again and found his way back into the Guiness book of world records. In 2004 he had set a record by speaking non-stop for 48 hours. However, his record was destroyed when an Indian spoke for 120 hours to break his record. However, he's back with a vengeance and has proved that he indeed is the world's longest speaking man.
