Maria Carmen del Bousada de Lara, a Spanish woman who became the world's oldest mom at the age of 66, has died of cancer at the age of 69.

Bousada was diagnosed with cancer a year after giving birth to twin sons, Cristian and Pau. A year prior to the birth, Maria Carmen del Bousada has been diagnosed with a tumor. The two-year-old twins will be left to the care of the family.

Maria Carmen del Bousada de Lara became pregnant at the age of 66 after undergoing in vitro fertilisation treatment in the US. Bousada lied to doctors about her age to get treatment, a move that drew condemnation from the Spanish health officials and her own family.

A sad story.  There is some light in that the babies have family to look after them.
