Mars Needs Moms - Official Trailer 2011 HD

Today I had the good fortune of attending a birthday party with my wife and children that took place at a local movie theater here in Toronto, Canada.  The aforementioned birthday was of a 6 year old girl who is the child of some very close friends of my wife and I.  The packed function was set against the video and arcade games in the "Silver City" movie house and the movie of choice was "Mars Needs Moms" by Disney Pictures.  I went into this with an open mind not knowing what to expect.  First off the film was shown in 3D which made it that much more cooler and fun.  Secondly the film based on life on Mars existing even currently to this day in an animated reality of course was an added plus.  Now the idea is that a young boy's (Milo) mom is picked by the Evil Martian Supervisor and it's minions for abduction for uses I'll leave to the movie goer.  Alien abduction cases by the way are also another interest of mine personally which is why I can say that the premise of this movie has a lot of positives.  There are some dark undertones however I must point out some that may go unnoticed by the general public.  The use of pro-capitalistic idealisms run rampant in this film show casing the obvious anti-China rhetoric and it's Communist regime.  There are also generalized eugenic hints with specific superiority references towards genders, as well as many examples mind control and brain washing examples through out the film.  It seems that the use of motion pictures to promote propaganda is not a thing of the past, it is unfortunate that these methods are being shown to our children especially when they are so impressionable to begin with at that young age.  With that being said I would recommend this movie as a family night, I would also recommend explaining before hand the differences between cultures in a way that won't cause a negative reaction in our children.
