Mazlan Othman Has Denied a Report That She Will Be the First Alien Ambassador to the United Nations

There were rumors floating around that the UN was ready to appoint its first ever alien ambassador, just in case aliens landed on earth and they needed a representative.

Mazlan Othman was apparently first in line for the job as she is an astrophysicist would have been head of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.

She was even reportedly getting ready to announce how this job would be more needed than ever as extraterrestrial life could set down on earth at any time.

However, the story has been shot down, as an e-mail from Mazlan Othman confirmed to the Guardian:

"It sounds really cool but I have to deny it," she said of the story. She will be attending a conference next week, but she'll be talking about how the world deals with "near-Earth objects".
