BAY SHORE, N.Y. - A woman whose Long Island home caught fire has been rescued by two men who were installing doors at her apartment complex.

Suffolk County police say 80-year-old Doris Foster suffered serious burns in the Monday morning fire.

William Zelezny and Lou Cirota were installing new metal exterior doors at Foster's Bay Shore building when they heard banging coming from her apartment. They kicked open her door and saw flames shooting out.

Police say the men found Foster and pulled her out.

Foster has been hospitalized for treatment of her burns.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
