Michael Jackson's fried hair is going to be made into diamonds. This is not a joke, so get this, remember when that Pepsi commercial from 1984? Well, the executive producer of the set threw his Armani jacket over Jackson's head to smother the flames and he then collected the star's singed locks and put them up for auction. So the story goes the collector, John Reznikoff, won the bid for the follicles has teamed up with a company called LifeGem who apparently can create diamonds from the 25 year-old lingering locks.

LifeGem is the world’s first purveyor of diamond memorials created from the carbon in a lock of hair.
A portion will remain in Reznikoff’s collection. Another portion is being used by LifeGem to create a small number of certified, high quality diamonds as a tribute to Jackson's life.

Back in 2007 LifeGem & Reznikoff collaborated to successfully create diamonds from Beethoven’s hair.

“We specialize in creating diamonds from locks of hair.  Our plan is to give people an opportunity to own a diamond made from Michael Jackson’s DNA,” said Dean VandenBiesen founder of LifeGem. “We are currently evaluating Jackson's hair sample to determine how many diamonds can be created. This will be a limited collection and we anticipate great interest.”

Reznikoff has assembled the most extensive collection of hair from history’s most famous figures, including Lincoln, Kennedy, Einstein and Marilyn Monroe.

It almost makes sense, think of it, 'diamonds are a girl's best friend' and Michael was best friends with Elizabeth Taylor who is famous for her love of diamonds. I think we've got a buyer for the creepy hair diamond thing lined up...

This is so creepy - I think anyone who wants to make money off a 'memorial to Jackson's life' is not in it to make Michael Jackson's friends and family happy, but to make money, which is just sick.
