Missing Cat 'Clyde' Found 3 Years Later - 2500 Miles Away
Clyde the cat vanished 3 years ago from Tasmania, Australia and was found safe in North Queensland - about 2,500 miles away from home.
The long-haired Himalayan housepet was found wandering around the Australian outback in a hospital in the small town of Cloncurry where he was spotted by a nurse. Luckily, Clyde the cat was taken to Donna Weber, a local a vet, who traced the cat's owners with the help of Clyde's identification microchip.
It is unknown how Clyde got so far from home, as the cat would have had to cross 185-miles of water - the Bass strait off Tasmania, which is more than 2,000 miles from Cloncurry, the guardian reports.
How Clyde did it is far from Ashleugh Sullivan's concern. Sullivan, The cat's 19-year-old owner is overjoyed by her pet's miraculous return:
"I'm positive he remembers. He's not acting like he's suddenly appeared somewhere and is frantic," Sullivan said as she tearfully held her contented cat.
An animal transportation company brought Clyde back to his owners in Hobart free of charge. Clyde made his return journey mostly by air.

I'd love to hear how Clyde crossed the Bass Strait.

I think he must have wandered into a ferry of something, like a stowaway.
