Another Montauk Monster Found In 2010

Theories about the so-called Montauk Monster are back in 2010 with the resurfacing of another creature that could be the Montauk Monster. The most common theory that abounds is that the Montauk Monster is an animal that managed to escape from the Plum Island Animal Disease Center in New York. The center studies animal diseases and is jointly run by the US Department of Agriculture and the Department of Homeland Security.

Raccoon-Like Animal Found In Texas

The Montauk Monster is described differently by everyone, but the common description is that of a hairless racoon. Others describe it as a tan coloured hairless dog. Some even believe that it could be some kind of hybrid involving a sheep or a rodent. An animal of the dog/raccoon description reportedly washed ashore in January 2010 in Texas. The resurfacing of yet another Montauk Monster has caused conspiracy theorists to jump back on the topic of discussion.

The Montauk Monster has returned – again – kind of. In July of 2008, mysterious photos of a monster-like creature surfaced in Montauk, New York. Since then, the “Montauk Monster” has been (probably) identified as a slightly decomposed raccoon… though conspiracy theories still abound.

First Montauk Monster Found In New York 2008

The Montauk Monster first washed ashore in New York back in 1998 and lead to widespread speculation as to where it came from and what exactly it was. Many believe that the dog/raccoon like creature is a result of government animal testing at the Plum Center in New York. The animal's appearance was at first difficult to distinguish as it had been underwater for a prolonged period of time before washing ashore.

Now that another |Montauk Monster has been reported in Texas, it remains to be seen whether this is simply an urban myth that has taken off again, or whether there really is more to the Montauk Monster theories than meets the eye.
