Moses(Alces alces). 15.8.2008, Tornio.
I think this is Young one from 2007.
Moose weights about f. 240-450 kg, m. 240-600 (sometimes up to 800) kg.
On an evening walk with Sylvi. Visited local bird tower and on the opposite side of a little pond were two moses eating lunch...
PS. I was trying to clear out what is the plural of moose. I wrote up there first mooses but in Finnish it is the name of one hero from bible - Moses. Diving deeper I found out that moose is indian word used only in North America. Didn`t knew that really from before...
But Mooses sounds so nice that I`ll call them from now on Moses. Or Mooseksiksi in Finnish:)...

Great picture, Matti! The plural of moose in English is..moose (I think). Actually, in England we call them "elks".
