Belle Isle Park, located in the Detroit River across from the downtown Detroit skyline, a broken water pipe, possibly located next to a tree, had burst in the frigid temperatures. The resulting ice formation is huge, these are photographs from the morning of January 21, 2009, air temperature 9 degrees, the spray still coming from the top of the ice formation.
