Why is there a crown on my glass? So glad you asked...
The Weights & Measures Acts are Acts of Parliament requiring draft beers and ciders to be served in standardized volumes. The Crown Stamp certifies that the glass is the correct size and the number underneath denotes the maker of the glass, in this case 2043 which is Cristallerie D'Arques of France, they apparently make the majority of "pint" glasses.
