Naked Man on a Plane: LA Bound Flight 705 Diverted to Albuquerque
US Airways Flight 705 got off to a racy start when it left Charlotte, NC bound for Los Angeles, a naked man interrupted the flight and caused it to be diverted to Sunport International Airport in Albuquerque, NM. The naked man on the plane has not been identified and no motive has been given for his stripping down.
The naked man had to be removed from Flight 705 by Albuquerque police and was handed over to the FBI. The naked man had to be restrained by passengers after he flatly refused to put on his clothes. After the naked man was removed the diverted plane continued on to Los Angeles without incident.
U.S. Airways Flight 705 landed at the Albuquerque International Sunport around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday so the passenger, who has not been named, could be removed from the plane by the Albuquerque Sunport Police.
Passengers told Los Angeles television station KCBS that during the flight they helped to physically restrain the man when he refused to get dressed.
"We actually had to physically hold him down on the floor and handcuff his ankles, his wrists," said Matt McGinnis, who suffered several bruises trying to get the man under control.
