Brighton is a very tolerant and diverse city I have been there many times, I have even visited the nudist beach (fully clothed), but it seems if you are visiting for love you better keep the noise down!
A court barred Adam Hinton, 32, from being within 110 yards of his 29-year-old girlfriend Kerry Norris' apartment, Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman Mike Taggart said. Residents of Norris's publicly owned home had been complaining since 2006 about thumping music, banging headboards and screamed obscenities, Taggart said.

So, were the obscenities coming from the apartment itself or nearby neighbors (in response to the banging headboards and loud thumping music)? *Sly grin*

I was very, very, very surprised to hear about this in Brighton! Like you say, Vinny, it's a very diverse place. Perhaps in say, Canterbury Kent, but not Brighton! ;)
