Ogopogo Video: Did Richard Huls See Lake Monster?
An Okanagan local named Richard Huls while visiting a local winery shot a video of what he claims to be Ogopogo. This video first submitted two weeks ago by Huls is the latest sighting of the legendary lake monster in Lake Okanagan.
The video only about half a minute shows two dark lines on the lake surface, which Huls believes is a creature just under the lake.
"It was not going with the waves," Huls said. "It was not a wave obviously, just a darker colour. The size and the fact that they were not parallel with the waves made me think it had to be something else."
Hul is certain his video has caught something authentic.
"It proves something is down there. Whether it's Ogopogo or not, it's a different story but there is something at least down there," he said.
There are still doubts however to the validity of the video. The quality of the video and alternate explainations of what is being caught in the video have left the authenticity of the claim in question. Similar videos and other sightings have been attributed to waves, ripples in the water, animals or even logs.
Until solid evidence of the lake monster's existence emerges, Ogopogo will remain one of British Columbia's great mysteries.
