Carolyn Savage, an Ohio woman, had been wanting a child, but due to medical condition is not able to have a baby. Savage and her husband, Sean had decided to use IVF (in-vitro fertilization). Twelve weeks into the pregnancy, Carolyn, had recieved a message from her husband, who said "I have really bad news, you are pregnant but they transferred the wrong embryos."
the couple were informed that Carolyn had been mistakenly implanted with another couple’s embryo!
Instead of terminating the pregnancy, Sean and Carolyn had made a decision to hand over the baby after the birth.
They met the genetic parents a few weeks later, and Carolyn asked only that she has a few moments after the birth to say goodbye to the child she had carried for nine months.
