It’s time to get mad and put the Austin Police Department in their place.

They are now planning to pull you over, and if they suspect you’ve been drinking, the police will stick a needle in your arm, and take your blood without a warrant. You cannot refuse, and they will do this by force. If you resist, you will be tasered and held down against your will while they remove a “sample”.

“My intent in the future is to make it so there is no such thing as a refusal. You can refuse all you want, but we are going to aggressively seek search warrants,” said Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo, in an interview with KXAN, a local city television station. Not just Austin but anyone anywhere who professes there is a need to preserve such intrusions on citizens! This isn't only a question of driving drunk. This is allowing the pretense of catching those individuals while blatantly denying anyone handled in this manner the protection from unreasonable search and seizure.

Throwing someone on the ground, possibly tasering them for noncompliance then, drawing blood seems pretty unreasonable to me!

SUICIDEkings, I like this story. It's good stuff.  TEXAS ROCKS!  Their police deserve a raise if they have to go around Tasering and wrestling with citizens and sticking them with needles (at least some of whom have HIV AIDS).  And the citizens deserve a new police administration that adheres to the U.S. Constitution.  I read that steroid usage among police personnel is accountable for some of this terrible aggression some officers suffer.  Better get Art tested quick!
