It may be a slow news days but the birth of a panda cow in northern Colorado is making headlines. The panda cow, which earned its name because it has similar marking as a panda bear, was born in Larimer County on New Year's Eve.

The panda has a white stripe around his midsection, along with a white face and black circles around its eyes.

The panda cow is quite rare. It is believed that there are just 24 panda cows in the entire world.

Chris Jessen owns the farm where the panda cow was born. Jessen named the panda cow Ben after his brother, who was also born on New Year's Eve.

The Panda Cow was created by Richard Gradwohl, a Washington state farmer who worked for decades to develop the breed. Gradwohl has plans to export panda cows to China.
