of

THE BOOK OF THE KING IN KING JAMES ENGLISH:

The Story of Elvis Aaron Presley in the language of the one book he loved the most:

The King James Bible.

THE BOOK OF THE KING, IN KING JAMES ENGLISH: BOOK FIVE: CLAUDIUS

Chapter 1

1     Now in the forty and third year after the death of Jesus Christ -

2     being the eighty and seventh year after Caesar left the isle to the North,

3     Emperor Claudius of Rome returned to that island with many legions

4     to conquer the Barbarians within.

5     And Claudius fought with the Barbarians for nine years until they were  defeated.

6     And he captured many prisoners and took them to Rome to be sold as slaves

7     and he led them through the streets for the people to see.

8     And the leader of the Barbarians saw the great buildings of the city and spake, saying,

9    "With all that they have, why desire they our poor lands?"

10    Then when all the Barbarians bowed before Claudius Caesar

11    and begged that he spare their lives,

12    their leader would neither beg nor bow.

13    And because he would not, Claudius spared his life,

14    but killed all the others.

Chapter 2

1     Then the Romans built great houses on the isle

2     whilst the Barbarians were kept poor working the land.

3     And the Romans had them build a temple to Claudius Caesar

4     and they worshiped him as a god -

5     but the Barbarians worshiped him not, yet having their own gods.

6     And most of the Barbarians of the South lands took the speech of the Romans as their own,

7     but the people of the Island would not, nor would the people who were the ancestors of the king in the Barbarian lands of the East.

8     Thus would the ancestors of the king nor the king himself ever learn the language of the Roman Empire.

Chapter 3

1     And the Romans made the people of all these lands build great roads to Rome throughout the lands of the Barbarians,

2     that a man might traverse from land to land in not many days time.

3     And quietly upon these same roads came the Christians,

4     spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ

5     wherever the Romans had gone,

6     even unto the great isle.

7     And at first but a few believers went forth unto these far lands,

8     but by a continual preaching of the word of God,

9     and the LORD working with them,

10   their numbers grew.

11   And they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ

12   offering the word with faith and hope

13   until the number of believers grew until after many years

14   a great many belived.

15   And mighty grew the word of God and prevailed.

Chapter 4

1     Now when the Romans learned

2     that the followers of the same Jesus Christ

3     that they had crucified in Jerusalem

4     were now grown large in number and baptizing many Barbarians

5     and even some Romans

6     in the name of Jesus,

7     they were full of wrath

8     and demanded the Christians bow down unto the Roman Emperor.

9     But many would not.

10   And the Romans commanded the executioner to cut off the head of one of the Saints

11   to make him an ensample.

12   And as the Christian's head fell to the ground

13   the eyes of the executioner came out and fell to the ground as well.

14   And there came a great fear on all who saw this,

15   both Christians and Romans as well,

16   for all knew that the hand of God was in it.

17   Yet still the Romans persecuted the believers.

Chapter 5

1     And it came to pass that behold,

2     the hand of God touched one of the Roman Emperors,

3     lo, the very same who was crowned Emperor while on the Isle.

4     For as he was nigh to fight a great battle

5     he saw a vision of a cross burning in the sky.

6     And God told him by this sign would he conquer his foe.

7     And in the sign of the Cross he defeated his enemy

8     and thence gave his life to Christ.

9     And through his conversion was the whole empire converted unto Christianity.

10   And Christians could then walk without fear throughout the empire

11   and preach Jesus Christ openly and freely.

12   And not only did the Romans become Christians

13   but so did the Barbarians in all the lands the Romans held.

14   Albeit the Jews did not become Christians.

15   Then that Emperor forbade them

16   that they might no longer enslave Christians

17   Nor could they by force convert Christians to their faith

18   Lest they be burned at the stake.

19   And so the forefathers of the king who were Barbarians

20   Now became Christians.

21   Albeit some of his blood

22   was of the Jews.
