Penguin receives knighthood, inspects the troops by World_Groove

I could think of a few generals he could replace.

Believe it or not, the Norwegian King's Guard has a penguin for a mascot and honorary colonel-in-chief. Fittingly, it's a king penguin. He resides at the Edinburgh Zoo and is named Nils Olav.

The bird was knighted Friday and is the third incarnation in a dynasty of penguin mascots with the same name (kind of like Norway's Shamu). He goes by "Sir" Nils Olav now.

Can you imagine having to stand at attention, straight face, and salute a bird ?

The thought of your king giving an animal a higher rank and more respect than his troupes must grate on some nerves.
