Penis snatch witchcraft panic hits Congo

Police in Congo have arrested 13 suspected sorcerers accused ofusing black magic to steal or shrink men's penises after a wave ofpanic and attempted lynchings triggered by the allegedwitchcraft.

Reports of so-called penis snatching are not uncommon in WestAfrica, where belief in traditional religions and witchcraftremains widespread, and where ritual killings to obtain blood orbody parts still occur.
