Planking Compilation Facebook War

Planking is the new craze sweeping the Internet - thanks to a Facebook group that now has almost 100,000 members, called Planking Australia.

Although according to them, the main rule is to be safe, a 20-year-old Australian man died after planking on some railings of an apartment building.

For those of you that don't know, planking is lying stiff as a board across objects, taking a photo, and uploading it online.

While it could seem like fun, if done in a safe manner, Acton Beale, from Kangaroo Point, died when he slipped on a railing outside his front door and fell seven storeys, according to the Herald Sun. It is thought that alcohol was a factor in his death.

May 25 has now been dubbed Global Planking Day, but just remember to be safe.
