An unidentified 28-year old man in Norway became the first person in Trom Province to be charged under new anti-prostitution legislation when he complained that a prostitute he had hired in February was a rip off artist.

The man told police that he was very dissatisfied with the services he paid for and that he wanted the prostitute charged as a con. Instead, police charged him with purchasing sexual services and fined him the equivalent of $1300 US.

The Nordlys newspaper says he has been fined 8,000 kroner ($1,300) as the first person in northern Norway's Troms Province charged under a new law forbidding the purchase of sexual services. The law went into effect in January.

Station Chief Kurt Pettersen tells the paper that the man had given partial payment to a Russian prostitute in the northern city of Tromsoe but she left with the cash when they failed to agree on a final price.

He had the wrong attitude toward the Divine Feminine. One does not complain. One simply does not return. :)
