Poor Children Rely On Orphanages To Get Education

Looking a bit nervous and very tired, Muryana, a 45-year-old woman wearing an inexpensive dull dress, was moving back and forth in front of the administrative office of the Vincentius Putera Orphanage. Her 10-year-old son, Puja, was sitting on a bench nearby.

"I want to register my son, Puja, at this orphanage. I want to see the orphanage`s administrator. I have been waiting here since 9 a.m.," she said. Since many other people had also come to the orphanage for the same purpose, Muryana and her son had to wait for about three hours before they got their turn to see the orphanage`s administration staff.
