The pope visited Scotland yesterday, and was greeted by tens of thousands of worshippers as well as a handful of protestors.

Arriving at Edinburgh Airport, highlights of the Pope's visit included convivialities with dignitaries, converse with the queen, a procession in Edinburgh and Mass at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.

The weather held up for the day, with no major problems.

The Pope left Glasgow Airport in the evening for the next leg of his UK tour.
