Protest of the Church of Scientology at Manchester 8th August
On 8th August this year, about 25 protestors arrived for their monthly protest outside the Manchester offices of the Church of Scientology. These protests have been taking place on a regular basis since February 2008, when a leaked video of Tom Cruise appeared on YouTube. The Church of Scientology's response in trying to censor the film sparked a world wide phenomenon of protests against the Church of Scientology, which continue to this day.
The recent protest was covered by a UK Documentary maker Mark Smith,of Everlasting Pircures who has been covering the story for some time. A local journalist in Manchester who has covered Scientology related stories in the past was invited to attend, but unfortunately was unable to make it on this occassion. Also in attendance was an ex-member of Scientology of 15 years standing, who changed her mind and left the organisation, but on doing so was disconnected from seeing her daughter.
The protestors come from a varirty of backgrounds, religious denominations and different age groups. Young and not so young, poor and not so poor, short, medium and tall, the protestors have one thing in common, there wish to protest at Scientologys policies of religious cloaking, human right abuses, disconnection, fair game, the mental and physical assault on staff by senior management, the release of confidential files on ex-members who speak out against the group, the use of the legal system to stiffle any opposition to the Scientology orgainsation founded by the science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.
The next protest is scheduled for Saturday12 September at 11 a.m.

Scientology is less harmful than Islam. When was the last time thousands of Scientologists screamed "Death to America and Israel"? Are you saying we should ban Islam too? Hey, ban the Bible too, those Christian extremists might make abortion illegal!!! And ban the (Hindu) Vedas while you're at it; they need to wake up and realize it's mythology not religion, right? I'm being sarcastic by the way.

Tell your thoughts in confidence regarding the Church of Scientology. Your identity can have complete anonymity and what you have to say regarding what the Church of Scientology represents will be greatly appreciated. A PM message or follow the reference link below for your first point of contact
This also applies to anybody who would like to speak on behalf of the Church of Scientology, I can confirm and report even to this day that not one Scientologist has come forward to represent the Church of Scientology and make a statement for their own cause and its practices.

Scientology is far more harmful than Islam, try www.lermanet.com for some of the facts. The story is not about Islam, Christianity or any of the bona fide religions. Scientology is not a religion, its a business, it breaks up families, brainwashes it's followers, uses slave labor and takes every last penny from it's members, knowledge is free.... ( I remember reading somewhere that sarcasm is the lowest form of humour, is that the same as being 1.1 on the tonescale? to speak the lingo)
