Rabid Vampire Bats Cause Bubonic & Pneumonic Plague Outbreak Peru
In recent days in Peru 4 children have died in the city of Lima , and another 500 others were attacked by rabid vampire bats in rural Peru causing an outbreak of bubonic and pneumonic plague outbreaks among the northeastern Amazonian areas in a village called Urakusa. The indigenous people of this town and region are known as the Aguajun indigenous group. Mean while medical officials have stated that three people have died of bubonic in another area known as the Ascope region. In this particular area it is reported that 31 cases have been confirmed and that the 31 are in fact infected with bubonic plague. Several people have also been infected with pneumonic plague which officials believe is related the Urakusa village bubonic plague outbreak.
