What Exactly Happens During the Rapture? When Does Harold Camping Believe the World Ends?
Harold Camping, who runs the Family Radio network, has predicted that the Rapture will happen on May 21, 2011 at 6pm (that's 6pm wherever you happen to be). Some people actually believe this to be true, despite a complete lack of measurable evidence that the world is about to begin self-destructing.

At any rate, what, exactly, is supposed to happen on May 21? Well, the righteous (about 3% of the world's population) are to be beamed up to Heaven, and Jesus Christ will meet them halfway and escort them up. This will be signaled by an earthquake that shakes the whole planet.
Armageddon: 'End of the World' on October 21, 2011
As for the rest of us? Congratulations-- we have ringside seats for Armageddon, the final battle between Good and Evil. Spoiler: Good will win. However, the battle will destroy the world on October 21, 2011.
As you can tell by the tone of this article, we don't believe that The Rapture will take place on May 21, or that the world is about to turn into the set of Escape from New York for the following five months. This is because, as mentioned above, we don't consider Harold Camping's "number crunching" to be suitable evidence of impending doom.

When 6pm rolls around on May 21, those who believe Camping's prediction will be faced with two immediate impressions: either The Rapture didn't happen, or that they weren't chosen. Hopefully those people have not sold or given away all their worldly possessions, quit their jobs and left their families. One way or the other, though, their pets will be cared for, thanks to the atheists.

I'm not going to be put through all the pain/agony of this world ending destruction and suffer for hours before I die. I have decided to end it all tomorrow at NOON Toronto time, that's EST, by either walking in front of a cement truck or in front of a speeding train.
I think that's a reasonable solution, rather than dying a slow death as the world collapses around me with all of the buildings crashing together.
So goodby great world, but I beat the end, by six hours, and cheated

And I'm not selfish, I gave all my money to the Humane Society and Red Cross for the recovery process, if there is one.
