Real-Life Frogger Game Goes Horribly Wrong in Clemson
A 23-year-old Clemson, South Carolina man was hospitalized after getting hit by an SUV as he tried to cross a four-lane freeway on foot. Turns out the man was attempting to play a real-life game of Frogger.
If being a frog and trying to cross a highway was easy, Konami would not have made it into a video game, right? The driver of the SUV is not expected to be charged with any crime. The WWYFF4 article specifies that the would-be Frogger was not a Clemson student.
Police said before he was hit, the 23-year-old yelled “go” and darted into oncoming traffic where he was struck by a 2010 Lexus SUV.
Frogger IRL: Know Your Frogger History
For those of you unfamiliar with Frogger, here's a quick synopsis of the amphibian classic:
Frogger, developed by Konami and released in 1981, featured a virtual frog whose goal was to cross a crowded street and dangerous river to make it back to his froggy habitat. He had to contend with bulldozers, trucks, race cars, snakes, alligators, and submerging turtles along the way.
Remember: Frogger is a professional video frog, and is also somehow the same size as a car. Don't try this at home, or on a freeway.

We don't just need more bleach in the gene pool, we need it clear back up into the dunes. Pray for the giant asteroid.
