Red hot spicey chilli peppers!
Red chilis contain vitamin C, provitamin A and are a good source of most B vitamins They are very high in potassium and high in magnesium and iron. Their high vitamin C content can also substantially increase the uptake of non-heme iron from other ingredients in a meal, such as beans and grains.
Capsaicin from red chilli peppers is used in a range of modern drugs e.g. Zostrix to help with osteoarthritis and Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy pain relief.
