Don't judge a book by its cover,

For once upon a time that tramp, just might have been your lover.

That wicked murderer your sister or your brother.

That crippled child, your father or your mother.

Help that little old lady cross the busy street,

Just to be on the safe side help everyone you meet.

Would you condemn or understand, if that had been your son,

Who had a drink too many and took a life so young.

Would you visit him in prison?

Or cut him out your life console

Or be ashamed to be his mother or to help his wife.

That child who has leukemia whose life you wish you could prolong

Would your wishes change if she had, done something wrong?

If the last time that she had lived she'd beat someone

Till they were dead, whilst under the influence of alcohol .

Totally out of her head.

What if that delinquent was once your neglected son?

Would you still begrudge him so strongly the slightest bit of fun?

What if that teenager who took drugs and died from lack of water,

Had once apron a time been your most beloved daughter.

Would you say hard luck they should not have taken the drug

Or wish you had provided a bit of that craved ecstatic feeling

With a tender loving hug.

A wise man once said; don't judge a man! Till! You've walked in his shoes,

If you don't stop being so judgmental; that's what you'll have to do.

Of course it's up to you as to what you do or don't believe

Me;

I think you should give out what you would most like to receive

If you'd like a good friend; be a good friend yourself

If you'd like someone to help you; then, help someone else.

Karma is as karma does; & the best karmas! Got with lots of love

And fills with joy the hearts of departed souls; still lingering up above.

Patiently waiting for the understanding; our lot in life is our own making

And I truly wonder at their patience with all this wasted time we're taking

To forgive and forget is such a hard thing to do

Just how long is it going to take you?
