Scheme to Bust Luka Magnotta Involved The Hedgehog

Before Luka Magnotta became infamous for butchering his ex-boyfriend on video, he was infamous for his animal-torture videos.

According to the Canadian Press, animal rights group Rescue Ink wanted to enlist porn legend Ron Jeremy and the Barbi Twins (models and animal rights campaigners) to capture Magnotta.

The plan was simple, offer Luka Magnotta a role in a porn film. When Magnotta showed up at the set, he would then be busted by Rescue Ink. Ron Jeremy was in on the idea, but backed out when it became clear that he would be the bait in catching a guy who was clearly crazy.

To clarify, Rescue Ink's plan involved a bunch of animal rights activists pouncing on Luka Magnotta at a fake porn set in Los Angeles. That's not the same thing as actual cops arresting somebody, badass though Rescue Ink's crew may be.

Also, the plan didn't take into account that Magnotta may know something about the porn business, and would notice something was amiss when he showed up at an empty house. Besides, it's well known that Ron Jeremy doesn't do gay porn. Overall, perhaps too many moving parts to have a realistic chance of success.

In recounting his role in the scheme, Ron Jeremy told the Canadian Press, "It’s like an episode from some TV show. The [guy] comes to the set with lube in one hand and his schmeckle in the other thinking he has a job, and the cops tackle him to the ground. That’s good for the movies. That doesn’t work in real life.”

In this case, Ron Jeremy is wrong. That sort of scheme, dumb as it may sound, works in real life. Ask the deadbeat dad who was busted after accepting a role in a fake Jennifer Aniston movie. Criminals are caught all the time after being lured in with fake sporting-event tickets, etc.

Luka Magnotta is not a criminal mastermind. He had spent years spamming the web with pictures of himself in every possible outfit and hairstyle He made his own anonymity impossible. Magnotta was caught in a Berlin web café as he surfed porn and pictures of himself. Again, not a criminal mastermind.

Rescue Ink's plan may have worked, but they would have had to reach out to porn stars who work in gay films.
