Dead Alien Video from Siberia is Fake

A video shot in Siberia which supposedly shows the discovery of a frozen alien corpse is, alas, fake. The dead alien video hit Youtube on April 17, and has since gotten over five million views. The video was uploaded by an account associated with All News Web, a paranormal and UFO site.

The dead alien video is tied to a series of UFO reports in Siberia over the past month, and the video detail section asks, "Is the alien seen in this video a survivor of that crash who managed to leave the area only to die as a result of Russia's harsh conditions?"

The short answer is "no". Why would they film the empty landscape before finding the body? Surely you only start filming only when there's something to film. Why does the alien body look so much like Hollywood aliens? It also doesn't help that the filmmakers are laughing as they shoot. That messes with the believability factor.

Having the dead alien's leg chewed off was a nice touch, though.

While I agree with you that it's more than likely a hoax, I was disheartened by your article after being hooked in by your secondary title, "Dead Alien Video from Siberia is Fake". I was expecting substantial claims, well-founded evidence, or even a citation from the Russian filmmakers that it was a hoax. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting a science article nor did I enter with the mind of countering your position as I do believe it is a hoax -- but the strength and tone of your claim misled me to nothing more than self-discovered, self-justified obvservations and rhetoric. Why I'm so bothered is because it's a pet peeve of mine when people automatically subscribe with zeal to claims only because it is outright seemingly so; meaning, alien abduction/sightings are veiled heavily in skepticism due to its history of fraudulence and lack of hard evidence so it is outright, seemingly so that "Man, this video is a hoax!" And it goes both ways, "Yo, this alien is for real!" And let me clarify, it's not the claim that bothers me, it's if either party brings forth evidence that is nothing more than self-realized rhetoric and black-white attitude lacking substantiated reports, further primary source findings, etc. Because even with all the best argument and observation, the questionable landscape pans before the alien is shown, the observation it looked like archetypical Hollywood aliens, there's still that minute, shred of a chance it is real. Am I absurd? No, that's man of reason and science speaking. No one debunks and dismisses, no one believes and subscribes to a claim with instaneous whim on a "It has to be..." feeling. That feeling is only the kernel to research and empirical engagement. Again, don't me wrong, as a man of reason and science, I also won't bet a single dime on that remote chance it is an alien; though, I won't subscribe to the party that says for 100% gurantee it's a hoax. To me, even 99.9999999 is not a 100. TL:DR? Change the title to, "Dead Alien Video, probably another fake."

Even a tiny lead toward it being a hoax would help.
