Naked Santas Attempt World Record in San Francisco

As part of the worldwide phenomenon that is SantaCon, a group of San Francisco Santas attempted to set a world record: most naked Santas in one place.

The naked-Santa record attempt comes after an afternoon pub crawl, which wended its way through North Beach beginning at 3pm on December 10. We have video footage from the naked Santa gathering, as well as some other, fully-clothed SantaCon footage.

Public nudity is legal in San Francisco, with emphasis on "public": you can't swing your jank on private property (unless the owner says it's okay). As long as these nude Santas stay in the street.

Oh, and legislation passed earlier this year requires nudists to place something between bare ass and public bench or seat, because... well, just picture it.

The record attempt seems pretty specific: nobody has ever tried to set a naked Saint Nick record before. However, the group posed for a nude photo was gathered by Spencer Tunick in Mexico City: 18,000 people.

The record for the world’s largest nude photo was set May 6, 2007, in Mexico City with 18,000 people, according to Guinness. A gathering of 13,000 (clothed) Santas set a record Dec. 9, 2007, in Ireland.
