This seasonal treat of ant eggs in a fish sauce/herb 'larb' and fried cicadas was eaten by my boyfriend & I in north-eastern Thailand (near the border with Laos) in late March 08. The ant eggs kind of 'popped' in your mouth, like white caviar, and the cicadas made a great crunchy beer snack when fried in a mushroom & oyster sauce.
